Flights to Phuket

I wrote a very long post for the farce that was us booking flight tickets but then it deleted. As a man so lazy I make Rab C Nesbitt look active I can't be arsed to write it again, so I'll sum it up as so.

We meet Tom a smiley Thai who resembled a hamster.
We give him money for flights to Phuket (35quid) + night train ticket back to Bangkok (16 quid).
We forget to hand him passports or get any flight details other than a reservation receipt.
We realise this and get very worried for the next few days.
Tom lies about the night train saying he booked it for the day after. We go to the station, book it ourselves and get a refund.
Get to Bangkok, having been laughed at and then eventually helped by 2 Thai travel agents from a sister branch to Toms.
Get to Bangkok, worry more.
As we leave the hostel we are told that quite a lot of budget Thai airlines (with whom we are travelling) crash. This worries us a bit more.
Make our way to the airport with Tom still having not paid the money for our flights. He promises that he will pay it in time for us to get a flight 2 hours later than we were supposed to.
Our original flight (11.50) takes off with Tom still promising to pay the money so we can fly on the second and only other flight of the day. (13.40)
A Thai woman from the airline takes pity on us, speaks to some other people and we find out there is room on the second flight.
I dance a victory jig. We all swear a bit, mainly directed at Tom.
We get on the plane, its very old and small, but we don't die.
